I had some free time, and Mori was nice enough to let me interview him.

Japanese customers are typically shy. I don’t know a lot of the American fans, but they always know my name, take pictures, bring presents.

Kidding... thanks for all your work in planning and posting the interview. No PC. Crazy.

A: Ok, what if there’s a fire. Which one do you save?
M: Hmm, If there’s a fire…I’d just make them again (laughs).

I'd stab someone for those minis.

Nice interview, If you ever get to do it again, I'd like to hear his thoughts on the future of RealxHead or his toy design. Yeah when he said TMNT that would be realy cool. I've always got the vibe his ambitions were bigger than the vinyl, and before it's all said and done, we'd be picking up Mori action figures at TRU.

Mori seems to be a really self driven, self inspired character. No internet, not a big a collector of other companies, can't think of his favorite artist! ... all his creativity appears to come strictly from within. You don't see that too often. Great job with this interview Onwi!

A little background about the interview: I've known Mori for about a year, just from running into him at shows or going to Shinto Gangu. In April I mentioned to him that I wanted to do an interview specifically for fans outside of Japan. He immediately said sure. He's really busy, but he always takes time out to talk to customers, show off new toys, and is genuinely a really friendly guy. Not a lot of his international fans get to have this face to face interaction with him, and that was my main purpose for this interview. Most of us are familiar with his toys, but not everyone is familiar with the person making them.

I would also like to thank you onwi for your excellent work on this interview. Also, I'm sure you'll be relaying our thanks back to Mori as well for letting us get to know the man behind the art.
On that note, actually, the next time you get to talk to him or any other artist in an interview setting, I bet you could setup a poll here for most popular questions on people's minds.

I would enjoy a more detailed background on his art, his influences and all that.

Again, thanks for an excellent beginning of your blog and hope you'll have time and energy to continue!

If you're talking about the rainbow one, that's probably Shef's.
