Post subject:  Secret Base Brain Question- Splitting?

Hi all!
I got my first SB fight figure in the mail today, the clear Damaged Brain with three sets of plush guts, and had a quick question for the SB veterans. Is the Damaged Brain bandage wrap prone to splitting when trying to remove it? When the figure came, the box had been sitting in the mail box for a bit and was nice and warm, but I still found the bandage wrap hard to remove, and even harder to put back on, even warmed up and in nice soft clear vinyl. The bandage wrap doesn't have a slit like Henshin Cyborg heads or anything, but I was wondering if anyone has ever had a brain wrap split where it goes over the 'nose'? Just something I was wondering if I should watch out for...

I don't have any Damage Brains, but I do have regular 'Brains. Neither should split. Use a hair dryer and heat both the brain and the head - you should be able to squish the head into the brain (or wrap).

You might be better off heating the head til it is super soft then shoving it into the the brain or the bandages.

OK, so as long as I really soften them it shouldn't be a problem. The wrap was pretty warmed up when I tried it, and I was just surprised at how big the brain head is to fit thru that hole. It's a pretty sweet figure, and now I'll have to keep an eye out for a couple more SB figures to put the other two guts in.

Just use a hair dryer and you should be OK...watch out as the vinyl will get very hot!

I have the DB set and those plush inserts are a snickers bar getting in...have fun! :D

Heh, yeah... the inner head came off while removing the wrap, and even just getting that back on around the plush head was tough, so once I find a figure worth stuffing, it's staying stuffed!

this is interesting...

the bagman my wife just got is being a pain. you would think from the pics of the bagmen with their bags off, would mean they can be taken off and put back ok?

we eventually got it off, cept the bag kept the figure's head inside of it.

we got it back on and together, but it was a royal pain.

the pix on artoyz show the bagmen with their bags on and off...did we maybe get a dud-bagman?

as said earlier. Use a blow dryer. Get the vinyl good and soft and you can remove anything. The Skullhead under the Bag of the Bagman is a little bulky, but with a little back and forth movement it will come off. Putting it back on is easier in my opinion because you just get the head nice and soft and put a little fold in him and he will open back up with a little push from your finger. I personally don't like moving my figures from the way I receive them, but I have in the past with doubles, but it can be done with HEAT!!

It can be tough. If you think you're going to rip something just use more heat.
If you think brains and bags are hard, you should get some of the SB or Skull Toys cyborg suits where you have 3 heads to cram inside each other.

For me it was cramming the guts inside a Boogie Man.

I got my first suit with two heads today, and my one concern is that once I get the outer demon head on, the inner head will fall off the ovitsu neck peg, and I'll never get it back on again. I have a bee head for my Nise Rider suit on the way, and k feel like that will have the same problem.

I'm scared of the Obake sheet, but I do want one to put guts in. To me, the best thing secret base does is clear and layered figures.

I don't get it. I've had no problems putting the brain or bandages on...or even the bag for that matter. The obake...yeah, that's a pain in every way. Are you guys heating just the head, just the brain, or both parts?

For me it was cramming the guts inside a Boogie Man.

For me it was inserting and positioning paper innards/wires in Gargamel figures.

Ben, please send all suits & bodies to me; no brains = no headache!

I've found there isn't much you can't do if you have chopsticks and a heat gun.....

Haha, thanks for the advice, T. I think my problem with the suit heads is that my only Obitsu body right now has the short neck peg, not the big dummy head cylinder that fits up into the inner head.

I've taken brains off with a blow dryer, its incredible how hot they can get. i think its fun to see what they hide under some of those brains and wraps!

I've been able to get bags off bagmen without heat, but i wouldn't make a practice of it. the only one iv never been able to remove the bag from is the silver, for some reason it looks like the bottom was never cut out like the others (tho im scared to try to heat that one anyway that and the gold paint look touchy).

i cant imagine getting boogie guts in, thats crazy!

The paper guts were incredibly hard to insert. I still have problems getting the positioning right.

So are a lot of brain inner heads painted special inside there? I always assumed that on the ones with opaque wraps or covers, the inner was either unpainted or just the eyes. I'm looking at my Mook right now for other cool clear SB figs, but I assume I can't have most of these easily.
