Anyone know anything about this? Name, etc? It's stamped Marmit 1998 on the bottom |

Looks like Todola from UltraQ. Pretty much the same figure as Magma except for the whiskers I think. This one looks like it might be from the Para Baby series but I'm not sure. |

Hmm did a search on Todola and I see a few M1 versions, but not Marmit. But the face looks exact, minus the painted on whiskers of the M1 |

It is indeed the Parababy version of Todora from UltraQ. Came paired with Goga. |

Looking for some general info. I recently picked up a Mamitora figure, and this particular guy came with a clear omake of the same character. As far as I know it is from the Vinyl Paradise line, as it has the same traditional brown header, but I haven't seen any of these before, nor any mention of something similar on the CT site. I know there was an anniversary re-release a few years ago, but I think this guy is from '98. I did see another set of 'micros' for lack of a better word (I hesitate to call them that in case of confusion) on the "...Marmit rules" post, so it does seems like there are probably others. |

Oh look ... it's this thread again! Frank Kozik, the first here to score one of these afaik, back in 2005: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=563&view=next Last time was REdYOdA, revived by il_muffino earlier this year: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25738&hilit=mamitora But I was wrong! There seem to have been a few versions, mostly post-thatonethatkozikgot. Found some pics, but none of the Marmit Gallery OG (circa '98/'99 & numbered VP-000), and I don't have a scanner so this crappy snap from HyperHobbyDash6 will hav to do. Down the side it says "Original Kaiju Mamitora": Others: The mini is relatively new I think. Can't help you with that, but again there are several versions. Name in Japanese is マミトラー if you want to look around yourself. As to the date: they use the same mold, so it would still say '98 on the foot even if it was made last week. (I'm assuming you mean the date is on the big guys foot there.) |

Ahahhaha, well at least I am in good company then Thanks for all the info. Great memory too, btw! Yeah, you are right there, mine is not the original 'brown' version, but also not the recent online anniversary exclusive. Anyway, a very interesting take on a kaiju, and I couldn't resist him |

Sorry, I should have mentioned I guess. Figured anyone interested could see it on the flickr page. It is the same as the guy having dinner above. A good balance of the original brown with the bee yellow, in my opinion. Still, got to track down the original VP version... |

I've never seen one of the brown ones for sale. It was made, as I've said before, as a mascot for the now defunct Marmit Gallery and Shop. I asked about it myself back in the day & was told: "Only one". Possibly that meant they only had the one left, but at the time I took it to mean that there was only one. |
