Post subject:  Help identify a monster and it's toy?

I got a letter from a collector who usually just collects vintage I deal with sometimes who had a question I couldn't answer ---

There is only one newer vinyl I regretfully let slip through my fingers. Shamefully, I don't know its name or the manufacturer. I've only seen it once on yahoo.japan a couple years ago. It's dark brown in color and walks on all fours. It's head is shaped much like the bow of a ship. Indeed, its back is bristling with gun turrets, towers and stacks like one might find on a battleship. The only thing I can compare it to is the Ultra Seven monster Ironrocks (no jokes please). Are you familiar with it? I need to watch the episode again to get a better view of it.

The only monster I'm personally familiar with that sounds anything like his description is the one he named - Iron Rocks - but Ive never seen a toy of this kaiju.
I was hoping maybe someone here might be able to figure out both what monster and what toy he might be thinking of.

Anyone want to take a shot?

Niiiiiiice.

Thanks,all!

The board tells me it came out around '08, and there were two versions - gunmetal and green.
This is all good info.
What the board didn't tell me, and where my first stabs at a net search failed me, is where he's originally from...

Hold my hand and tell me the show, too?

The green Yamaton was a standard sales directly from Yamanaya for 5775 yen. The second release of Yamaton was a Super Festival 46 exclusive released on April 29, 2008 also for the same price of 5775 yen.

Thanks, more good info, but I was actually wondering if this fellow had his day on the TV box.
Is he a licensed monsta from a Tsuburaya show or an original creation?

For some reason I kind of regret not getting one of these myself. They remind me of P-40 Flying Tiger model planes I use to build when I was a kid. Man 2008 was such a good year for kaiju!

He's a Tsuburaya licensed kaiju. He appeared in a Ultraman manga. I believe he may have also appeared in the Ultraman anime, but i could be wrong about that.

Ultraman Manga:

Oh for [yes I like toys] sake, you guys pull out the awesomeist [Wonkaberries] all the time. This is why SB rules! I think we need a random, 'hey did I mention I know this...' thread
