Pilot Ace

I was talking to DiceOne a few days ago, and realized we both had different toys with identical headers. Mine was a random grab off YJA, and I had been curious about the company and toy since I got it.

I speak/read no Japanese. But Dice translates the toy company as "Pirate Toy Company", "Pirate Issue pirate toy"

Not sure the age of these since there is no date on my header, but it does look a little aged. pretty cool header art and logo though, and the toys aren't bad either.

Does anyone on the board have any other Pirate Toy Company toys, or know more about this company?

It is not Pirate Toy Company. It is Pilot Ace. Pilot Ace went defunk. They produced toys from around 2003 up to Feburary 2010. Beagle was their manufacturer which is still around. And the header says "Pairotto Eesu no Pairo Tooi" english "Pilot Ace Pilot Toys."

Welcome. Also here is the kana for Pilot Ace パイロットエース if you are trying to search for more items by them.

Another header by them for their kaiju line of toys.

Pilot Ace focused alot on Godzilla, Ultra Kaiju, Ge Ge Ge Kitaro, and Ray Harryhausen vinyl. Some vinyls they did for their Ray Harryhausen line.

^^ I love that guy too, I've been hunting around for the green version. I really like Pilot Ace, but they don't seem to come up for sale too often.

TOHO '65 Lucky Bag release in 2007. Amazing sculpts. Radon is exceptional.

Oooff, it's no surprise that you picked up one of those lovely bags, Choon! Me 'n Steve would wax about them all the time a ways back. It's great, if a bit painful, to see such a nice picture of the set.

certainly gives the marmit set a run for its money, especially x seijin.

The X Seijin by Marmit is perfection; but trying to compare those two sets, really, it's oranges against kumquats! Both belong in the fridge!

 More like grapefruit or pomelo! Pilot Ace have always size up their sculpt. Their version or X-Seijin is nearly double the height or Marmit's.

I've always love the plane/ pilot. If it was cruder would easily pass as Butanohana.

^ that means this x seijin is, what, 7"–8" tall, basically standard size? which means goji and radon (why "rodan" in english?) are practically giant size. my sense of scale was way off, then.

^^ both belong in my fridge, you mean ;)

X-Seijin is more of a Para Bini size about 6". Here's a comparison shot.

Yes, Pilot Ace's Hedorah is huge. That's a keeper. Not easy to find.

^ thanks for that! that goji is immense. i had a difficult time gauging the scale without your usual wooden drawers in the background ;) again, that's a really great set.

Maybe two years ago? Steve might have a clearer recollection, I just know I think about that listing all the time!

I just love it when certain toys fall out of favor.
Most of the time I'm just too stupid to realize or unlucky
