Post subject:  All out Grody - The database

All right guys, here it is. I think Luke's dedication to the world of sofubi is pretty clear by now. Though he may be a relative newcomer on the scene, his work ethic, creativity, and massive production warrant the cataloging of his efforts in a database. I will add some additional pics when I have a bit more time. For the most part, I think there are in order of release. Be warned: this is a pic heavy thread!!

PS - with all the mixed parts and part swapping, I am trying to keep these to the 'original' release stock, but I almost think with the interchangeability, they might be unclassifiable :) I am also only covering official releases, not the load of shots from Luke's twitter of his experimental creativity

- mixed parts monsters
These guys really brought Luke's work to the forefront, care of a sneak peak and subsequent release at SDCC '11. Here is a basic breakdown as near as I can tell:

Six heads: vampire, werewolf, invisible man, frankenstein's monster, mummy, golem
Corresponding arms: hammered, hairy, muscled, human/shirted(?)
Bodies: midsized body/bumpy-legged, squared 'face' body with Michelin-man legs, small rounded body/thin legs, chunky body thick legs
Each part is available in one of five colours: light green, dark green, blue, white, brown

I'm pretty sure the Garamon grody customs isn't by Luke so maybe it shouldn't be included or in another category like "Customs by other artists"

Also, isn't there an unpainted US release Ensorcelled Man?

^ Yes there is.

Also, the pair listed as US release Ojisan and Karakuri are the first GS release. So, maybe GS Debut Ojisan and Karakuri.

Added thanks, any other slips just let me know. I know full well you can't please everyone but I will do my best.

@ melek_taus, didn't the WF versions come first though, in Japan?

Oh and maybe include the "secret" unpainted versions if you want a completely complete database:

Post subject:  Re: All out Grody - The database

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure WF was after. I remember cuz I missed the first release, but scored the WF versions after..

There is also this group of one-offs:

That's the blue eyed guy you have a pic of on the right.

THRILLED to have the top-most pics in this holy endeavor!

But yeah, I think releases went US orangies, WF purples, then Monsters, etc...

Sounds nice n' dirty  Great job ultraK, nice to see all these brilliant little beasts at once.

Hats off to Luke Rook for a truly spectacular explosion of creativity and fun...now if i could only get my shit together and get my hands on a few ...

Yeah, I think there are "variants" of a lot of the runs. For instance the 1st unpainted Monster set, there were 2 painted proto secrets. The Monster Gool had 4 unpainted's. It seems like most runs have a secret run within.

Post subject:  Re: All out Grody - The database

Made an short update with the monster guy breakdowns, but could somebody tell me what the variations are on arms? I haven't been lucky enough to hold a lot of these guys in person, but when they were first released, I had thought there was almost matching arms to go with the characters, e.g. a hairy wolfman arm, a dracula, golem/rock arm, and a franken, but now I am not so sure if there are other versions of the 'human' type arms, with or without shirts, as I need a close-up look. Is there only three variations?

It was a custom at Red Hot Robot's recent Toxic & Tasty show. Owned now by a happy stranger, I'd guess.

Lifted from October Toys by Winu, lifted from Winu by me. I resized it and plopped it here by way of an answer.

I bought the guy on the far left, green body, black/purple arms on eBay and did not realize it was a one-off. It wasn't listed as a custom either, just a WF grody shogun. Is it definitely a 1/1?
