Does anyone know what this is? Looks like it opens up on Friday

http://akibacultureszone.com/index.php

Found out about it reading the One-up blog. Is it a new shopping center and new home of One-up? Looks really cool. Maybe we can get some Kaiju Korner coverage?

I think they are having a Yamomark GID sea horse at the opening, looks like another to go on the "to do" list next time I go to Japan.

In like 100 years

From the website, it's a new/converted building where K-Books and One Up are moving to. I'm not sure if One Up will keep their Broadway store open, but as it is, they already have 3 different stores in Broadway. This may be a chance to get everything in one place. Tomorrow's the grand opening, so I'm sure somebody will be by soon to snap some pictures.

Jeff, I got the news from Ken at One up a little while back. Akiba Zone is a new complex, opening today in fact. At least one of the One up Nakano stores is staying open.

I've put up details on KK, as well as pics of remaining One up Nakano indy toy stock. Was planning to head to AZ this morning but something came up. Will try to get there soon to cover the new shop.

On that note, for anyone traveling to Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei, (and to a lesser degree New York), KK has a lot of toy hunting resources, including write ups of around 20 shop visits and a large map pinpointing Tokyo toy shop locations.

That map of yours is saving me so much time and effort (and costing my wife her patience) it's silly. Thanks for that! Hope to be putting it to use in about 2 weeks!

I keep forgetting to take a picture of the one in Broadway. I think Luke took a picture of the one at the Akiba Don Quixote.

What was I thinking! Of course you'd rather have the ones from AV idols. I'm guessing the AV Idol vending machine would be near a Soapland or Pinsaro. I'm sure you know where those are...

Wow. Some of the oNe-up secretbase prices are absurd.

Seems like a cool place but the pricing on some of the toys is ridiculous.

Finally, One up will be maintaining two locations in Nakano Broadway, but Akiba is the place to go for the indy toys.
