So, I'm writing about toy culture. For school. Bah and humbug. Academia dictates that any resource I choose to actually cite must be validated by inclusion in a set of completely arbitrary databases. Lucky me, I am finding a ton of interesting articles... unfortunately most of them are short and don't provide me with usable conclusions or images. There's one that sounds like it might be great but I can't get the text anywhere and back issues of the magazine are like $25 each. I figured before I invested I'd ask if anyone here had a copy of this article (or read it and remembers if it was worth a crap):

Steinberg, M. A Vinyl Platform for Dissent: Designer Toys and Character Merchandising. Journal of Visual Culture v. 9 no. 2 (August 2010) p. 209-28

I mean, a nearly 20pg feature sounds great in theory. Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Thanks so much! & sorry if this is posted in an incorrect place on the forum, if it is tell me where to move it. I searched for like 234582346234686 hours to see if there was any thread for "school" "press" blah blah blah. Nada.

I actually know Marc - he gave me a draft of his article before it was published and I found it very insightful (it's a few years back though - not too sure what points he covered...). He teaches at Concordia University in Montreal (http://cinema.concordia.ca/people/film- ... g-marc.php). I -think- he's on here too. Tell him Olivier Petitpas sent you, he may be willing to give you direct feedback...

-EDIT

He is on here. His handle is Super333.
