IEI is releasing a solid gold C-3PO and Sterling Silver R2D2, for the 35th Star Wars Anniversary.

If you have the money to spend the R2D2 is 150,000 yen, and the C-3PO is 500,000 yen

For that money they could've at least made them look nice.

Editions of 35. I've been trying to find out the size of them, and whether 3PO is solid gold or just plated. Certainly VERY expensive, but if it's 24K gold it may be worth it's weight in...gold.

C-3PO looks like the old soap toys they had.

I'm pretty sure they're articulated, but they're small @nt the r2 is around 2.3 inches, if that helps and the 3cpo is solid gold.

2.5 inches of white gold? otherwise i dont see how the 1600 price tag could be justified. The sculpts are not that great but I can definitely see how they could appeal to hardcore starwars fans with a lot of dough.

Yeah my aunt is big into SW (she sent me the page) and she already reserved a pair. She definitely a head though. She and her friends role play all the cons and her basement is loaded with memorabilia.

So that'd make them about the same size as the original Kenner figures?

R2 is sterling silver. So yeah, pretty steep.
But with the price of gold being $1,600ish an ounce, CP3O might not be a bad deal. Just wonder how much that little gold man weighs...

I think these only apply to die hard...loyalists. Otherwise...I can't imagine anyone purchasing these...

I think they would go great with the 3-D Collectors Edition Reissue Blu-Ray Boxsets with collectible covers!
