Nice. I was in Osaka last week. Hero (now at its THIRD new location!) has really gotten huge, but the prices are stratospheric compared to a few years ago. The Namba/Nihombashi area is still definitely the place to go. A couple of shops in Shinsaibashi/Amerika Muri, but nothing too exciting, unless you're into Gloomy Bear, I guess... Bit of this and that at the two Mandarakes. NOTHING at Samurai, which used to be another great little out of the way place. Finally Astro Zombies was cool to check out, but no Skull Wings. I popped by the Charatics shop (near the Mandarake Umeda, right?) but it wasn't open yet so I bailed. |

I have yet to hit Osaka, but I've heard it's very different from Tokyo in many ways. Please tell us the story behind these: http://www.flickr.com/photos/datadub/21 ... 229855997/ "Collect them all! And then eat them!" |

Osaka is famous for its comedians - one of its biggest export. so this company sells castella - tastes more or less like a doughnut hole - shaped little SD versions of these famous Osaka comedians as Souveniers.. Now I think some enterprising chap could get the molds for Secret Base erasers and could make a fortune selling skullbee doughnuts at the next SDCC I love the idea of limited figures that you have to eat |
