If you look at the sets of Saburo and Goru (the dogs) in this catalog... i just got the one on the top left... kind of a semi clear rootbeer color and detailed painting on the faces: Haven't been able to find information on these... just curious if anyone knows anything about the set... awesome vinyl! |

Pretty sure those were the first two released. AKA "Cyclops Dog" and "Oni Dog." Considered difficult to display by some collectors, but still a good OG RxH find. |

Here's mine to give a better idea of scale . . . its weird, but you dont see these pop up very often. I like them a lot, they are nice and chunky and heavy with a light glitter in the grey vinyl. ![]() I dont think these are all of the colorways but these are the ones released between 2004-2008. I always wanted the clear 'root-beer' versions. ![]() |

As far as I know, there is only one other set not shown: the tan base set from around 2009. ![]() |

^ "root beer" denotes translucent brown/amber vinyl. i think bwana & co coined the term? |

On my monitor they look like a light root beer colour . . . i swear i've seen other pics of the unpainted clear set that looked like a light root beer too ![]() Maybe Ultra999 is correct and i'm just wishful-thinking! Sorry for any confusion . . . . Anyway, they all seem to go for reasonable prices except this set which tends to sell for silly money! ![]() |
