Time to show some love for the company that has been around the longest. Bandai and all its offshoots have given so much to the world of toys for decades, and kaiju are no exception. Its vintage contributions aside (which are many and majestic), they still are making some excellent toys. So whatever your medicine of choice is, salute the modern incarnations and re-issues from this great company.

I'll start it off with a classic '66 pairing of a few favourites: Hyata and Zarab.

That Zarab is definitely a favorite of mine as well. It's seemed to have fallen off of my radar though, in terms of looking for one. I will have to remedy that!

Nice one Steve, this one is going to be fun!

Is that Hayata repro a B-Club? The one I've got was fabbed up by Nostalgic Heroes.

Never mind, mine's a mini and it looks like yours is a standard.

Yep, you got it; this one is standard sized. His NH full-size brother is holding the beta capsule, and the mini has the supergun.

Man, ultrakaiju that Hayata looks so awesome!
I think I need to add him to my WTB list ;)
How tall is he?

A couple of great trios from a couple of great shows:

Pluma, Oxter and Gorbagos from Return of Ultraman
Neronga, Goldon and Seabozu from Ultraman

Seabozu and Gorbagos were released in the early 2000s when the imprint had the perplexing name of Popy, all the rest are from the previous decade when the repro line was still called B-Club.

Wow, those guys in the first pic are fantastic! They're like children's drawings come to life!

Here are a pair of Dodongos brought back in the flickr resurrection (so forgive the shitty pics). First up is the early re-issue from Bandai, and the same again made later under B-Club in GID vinyl.

I've got both of those too. I've always wondered if Bandai put the wings on bass-ackwards to distinguish it from the OG Marusan and Bullmarks. Obviously there's no confusion with the B-Club GID, therefore normal wings.

Interesting point, I hadn't thought of that. I just chalked it up to someone having all the molds at the factory, and getting all the pieces together, but probably not having a picture or never bothering to actually check out the original when it was being assembled. As nice as they were at the time, the early Bandais don't have anything on the more modern figures when it comes to quality. Anyways, I am glad they changed it back/fixed the mistake.

^^^ Are the pieces trimmed such that you can't reverse them yourself? I wouldn't be able to keep myself away from the hairdryer!

Oh yes, they could be easily switched but the paint spray lines would not match up.

One of these days I'll probably get around to modifying mine ... but I already have plenty of other projects in queue!! :D

Many of the original Bullmarks were assembled, painted, and released with the wings on backwards. I believe the Bandai repro is a nod to that.

Or Daimajin's legs. Can't count the number of times I've seen left and right swapped. Fortunately, you can easily switch them back and it won't mess with the look of the paint...

Those are all really great scores Kevin. You sure have an eye for some classic monsters. You already know I love your Jirass, but wow, I am completely jealous of the yellow Miclas, that is the version I have been after for a while. Very nice figures, I like them against the green background paint too.

Thanks, I didn't think I was going to win the Miclas but it was a happy surprise (NIB too!). That green paint is my wall color that I picked back in middle school

Well congrats! You made a wise purchase and am glad you won him. He is such a fun character; here is my GID version of him:

^^ Who cares?! We can never see too much of it. :)

Pffhht, all you guys and your one per sculpt rule. That just means more chances for me!

^^^ Seems I've murdered and burned my one-per rule if that makes you feel any better, Steve. I'm still likely to be a prude about the colorway chase but that doesn't mean I'm not a closeted slut :D

Here's a wintry snap of some warming arrivals from back in Februrary:

Loving this thread so far.

Excellent photo my friend. I always love your winter scenes, but that one is particularly pretty. People may not give a lot of attention to the B-Club reissues, but you certainly can't argue that they are colourful and look mighty fine together. I would love any one of those individually, but the set you have is really making me jealous.
