What is the deal with the Secret Base Kits? It looks like you have to carefully trim away a lot of vinyl to get them to go together. Am I right on that? Or am I just seeing things that aren't there in the pics I've seen? |

Mine is still on the way, but looking at the pics, they seem exactly as you described; the extra flash from the mold opening is still attached in the raw manufactured state, and it is up to you to trim it and articulate the toy. Great labor savings measure for them, and a quirky novelty for us. Now just imagine being on an assembly line slapping together Obakes and Skullbees all day long! |

i have the securet base honey bee set of 3 (I picked them up before all the hype drove things to crazy extremes)... I sat down to put one together and decided it was best to not enter the venture with only an exacto knife I post pics of one over on kr.. if i can find it ill post it here.. I figure someday I'll get the nerve/effort to assemble at least one ![]() ![]() |

What was the deal? Did you find it hard to slice through the vinyl with only an X-acto blade? Did you try heating it up first before cutting? |

Not only is there the massive amounts of extra vinyl to cut.. there are 6 cirular (pretty think) holes to carve into the body.. I got out my tools and just decided to wait till when I had time lol |

those kits are super simple to assemble. trim, rub and insert. I put together the yellow clear and milky clear in about 5 seconds each. |

Well I got the courage to put one of the Glow Honey Bee kits together! Turned out great. Cutting the holes was super easy, except for the holes in the back for the wings. Every hole that needs cutting is indented so it's easy to follow. The holes in the back were just barely outlined and a lttle nerve racking. Kept worring that I was going to slip and put a huge cut in the back. But I managed. Used a hair dryer to soften the mushrooms and inserted them in the cut holes!!! |

Yes it's the whole figure. No missing pieces. For the holes in the back, I broke out a new blade for my x-acto. then went at the cutting process nice and slow. |
