Now I see the scuffs. Still not bad though. |

Ainsley posted on her blog about this made in Japan buddy we found at an antique shop... I'll probably post an ID help thread, but if anyone knows already we are curious. http://lifewithtoys.blogspot.ca/2014/03/vintage-japanese-toy.html |

I am afraid I can't help with any ID info Chris, but that guy is really great. So is he a kind of internal 'nodder' where the eyes shake around inside? Funny, he almost has a European aesthetic I find, with the exception of the mouse maybe, so I would not have guessed. Is there any kind of symbol alongside the stamp? or is it inside a diamond or anything? Really great find. Beautiful colours and amazing character and expression. A perfect little toy. |

Thanks! Ya, I love the little guy. I started it's own ID thread. http://skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=47796 with a pick of it's markings on it's back. |

Oh the squirrel, babe, has sharp teeth, dear. And he shows 'em, pearly silver. |

Great score ultrakaiju, congrats it's a beautiful piece! If I'm not wrong, this Lion Maru villain is mid size. They made standard size? |

^^^ Okay, rub it in! I'm still quite jelly over that squirrel! P.S. Some of those textures look like sashimi, or maybe I'm just hungry? |

Hey, no jealousy required Grace. Your family of plastic striped kittehs is something I can envision being locked up in a crate at the end of Raiders. The correct answer is, it is always sashimi time! |

Ding, ding, ding. You got it! And well spotted. Probably my all time favourite sculpt of any vintage toy made. Even the mightiest and rarest don't get me like he does - my true weakness. Well, if you guys wanted to guess them here then, then I can fill it in too for them all. [from left to right] Top row 1. Popy King Zaurus Gigasu 2. 3. Middle row 4. 5. 6. Bottom row 7. 8. 9. |

okay.... I still like the hamachi idea though! Top row 1. Popy King Zaurus Gigasu 2. 3. Middle row 4. 5. 6. Bottom row 7. Bullmark Flying Squirrel (from Lion Maru) 8. 9. |

With apologies, Grace, no. I wasn't even making that connection, but that was a great guess. |

Wouldn't want to ruin the fun for all, so I'lll just fill in two: Top row 1. Popy King Zaurus Gigasu 2. SAN / M1 Daimajin model kit (?) 3. Buta Baltan Middle row 4. 5. 6. Bottom row 7. 8. 9. And HEY! You never told me that you finally made good on your Gigas lust! |

* 'Vintage' herein being [admittedly loosely] defined as toys produced in the period prior to the '90s resurgence of full-sized kaiju toys. I'd start a new thread just for the Buta toys for you David, but where would be the challenge in that? Where, I ask you? |

Eeeeep. Sorry, chum. I hate it when I forget to read... So when did you pick up that Popy G? Last I recall he was a haunting hole in your life. |

Thank you for remembering, D. Oh he certainly is, no doubt about it. For whatever reason that is by happenstance unrelated to the number of KZ Gigasi that I can seem to accumulate. [Insert barren plea for more toys here] |
