It looks like a bootleg that has been floating around a few years ago.

If you search for Bootleg Bandai LittleGodzilla on the ClubTokyo site; it gives the full story.

That's some beautiful sculpting for a bootleg. Someone should turn this into mainstream Kaiju.

I think I remember these being copied from the toy or mold itself, resulting in ax excellent repro if you have never owned the original and know what to look for. But of course I forgot!

I'm sorry, I was mistaken (It has been a long week). The figure was made by Bandai- I wa just remembering a long period where you could only find the China-made knockoff of it on Ebay and otjer sources of vinyl figure. The article I mentioned previously does tell how to distinguish the fake vs the real deal.

Was the original marked Bandai? I just won this on evil-bay cause I liked the sculpt. It was the only version of the Baby Godzilla that didn't annoy me. It's on it's way to me and the seller said that the only marking on it was China. So I guess it's a bootleg? It looked good in the pic. Paid about $31.00 shipped for it. I hope the quality is atleast decent.

edit; I just read the article you spoke of. It looks like a bootleg but atleast it's a fine bootleg

Yes, "Little Godzilla" was released in 1994 in concert with the movie "Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla". This figure has Bandai 1994 Made in Japan on the right foot, the bootleg only says China.

Not sure but you might be referring to "Minya" from the Showa films. He seems to get on a lot of fan's nerves however "Son of Godzilla" is one of my favorite films. And as such, this in one of my favorite toys - the Bear Model release which depicts the final poignant scene in the movie.

Otherwise, the heir to the throne as King of the Monsters evolved in the Heisei films from Baby Godzilla (1993) to Little Godzilla (1994) to Godzilla Junior (1995).

Dang, that Bear Model set rocks, Jonee!! I love it!

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the heisei Godzilla Junior, but I have a soft spot for Minya. Just remember: Son of Godzilla=gooder'n hell. Godzilla's Revenge=shit in a can.

As far as Miniya vinyls go, I'm feeling Y-MSF's glowie. I've got a custom of it in the works now, in fact.
