It's part of a reissued set of original kaiju put out by Marusan around 2000 (if memory serves me). I forgot what this guy is called - but in the late 60's/early 70's, Marusan issued a line of kaiju based on monsters they created since they didn't have the license to do versions of toho critters. Then Marusan reissued these around 2000 in several colorways. The one you've got looks like a special USA version issued in collaboration with Mike Z of Day Old Antiques of Beantown. Check the header card - if it says USA version - that's the one done for Day Old. I think they were 10 monsters in all reissued as part of this line, each one limited to 50 pieces. It also comes in other colorways you can usually find on YJA pretty easily. |
