Post subject:  Vintage Fresh Meat with some questions

So thanks to the kaiju insanity that is G-Fest, I now have my first vintage piece, a standard Bullmark King Ghidorah. I love it and am feeling the urge to buy more. I just have a few questions?

1. So I get how the whole Celga thing works, and feel myself being drawn to the dark side. What are some helpful Japanese names to search for, such as company names and character names? My kanji skills are not so great after one semester of Japanse years ago?

2. Are there any great online resources as far as photos, prices, rarity, etc?

Thanks!

Also, most names are in katakana, and to a lesser extent, hiragana, with a few notable exceptions.

Not much in the way of a price guide. Better idea is to watch auctions to determine the general ending price.

Solid reference for M1, Marmit, some other semi-recent companies.

I LOVE this site. Vintage companies and other obscure sofubi (all in Japanese). Some pieces that you will never see in real life.

Enjoy.

Yeah, prices are weird. Best is just do like advised, watch auctions and spend what you are comfortable with. You can build up to the $5000 pieces later!!! :D :D :D

one quick and handy way to search out japanese names is to use kaiju-taro site. the site can be flipped from japanese to english allowing you to look for stuff in english and then flip to japanese. cut and paste names to yja. easy.

collecting bullmarks from the godzilla line is a great place to start collecting vintage . lots of people start here and some thats all they collect . if you have any questions on what a fair price to pay for a figure this is the place to ask .

Thanks, and I definitely will. I'm definitely getting the vintage bug, to the point that I'm considering selling some of my newer stuff to fund it, but I'm not sure yet. In the meantime, I'll probably just keep watching YJA.
