Here's a new addition to my collection that has me really stoked for more vintage pieces.
A vintage Bullmark giant size Ragon. I always loved this Japanese style "Creature from the Black Lagoon" that first appeared in Ultraman Episode 4. That show cracked me up as the atomic bomb kept dangling on Ragon's body keeping the Science Patrol and audience gasping for fear of the bomb dropping and turning all into nuclear mincemeat.
This giant size figure is a whopping 13.25 inches tall! What I really like about it is the crudeness of the texture and all the protruding bumps on the back of his head. Luckily this figure is in really nice shape and retained most of the silver highlights on his fins.
Now my giant size Yonezawa Ohgon Bat has a giant cohort!

Wow, what a great pickup.
For a vintage piece, the paint is still perfect on it.
Definitely agree with you on the crudeness of the sculpt.

Thanks for the great shots of this, he is in such amazing condition! I just happened to receive a Celga box in the mail two days ago with the B-Club GID repro of this. It is a great sculpt, just covered with different textures on each part of the body. It's strange how they made his head so huge, the weight when holding him makes him feel slightly like a weapon. The vintage piece has infinitely more charm however... every spray is gorgeous.

What a great piece! Congratulations! I also like the fact that the head seems a bit oversized- it truly is a aesthetic figure! :D

You betcha!
What's happening is that I am just becoming more and more selective on the Neo Kaiju side
with the hopes of being able to obtain more vintage stuff. I'm even catching the bug again for vintage Japanese tin toys! There is just something about the patina on toys that I really miss.

Goodness! What a handsome toy! The silver spray on the fins that go all the way down the legs and arms are really spiffy. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your toy with us. Yes, vintage can be quite addictive!

Ralph, definitely pick up the B-Club gid reissue. They're dirt cheap when they show up and totally worth it as a companion piece to this guy!

Thanks!
Other than a finger tip that had about a 1/16 of an inch shaven off at an angle, (not sure why maybe because of an air bubble as there were some small pock holes on a few fingertips next to the shaven one ) he's in outstanding shape.

Can't seem to stop drooling over your Ragon! :P I just realized how big this guy is! Would love to see more pictures, being the greedy guts that I am. Why are vintage pieces so mesmerizing! :D

Great pickup Ralph!

What I like about alot of the rough vintage sculpts is the texture and roughness of the sculpts. Just makes you want to hold it or run your hands over it.
Versus the smooth clean lines of most contemporary kaiju (excluding Bemons, Longneck and some others).
