Hehehehe...is that a velvet cape he's got? He must have been hiding really well cause I never saw him...or maybe my glasses just don't work anymore.

Is that the Kenner 15" figure from 1978? I still have the one my grandparents gave me for Christmas when I was about 10 years old. It's a toy I prized back then and still cherish today.

Nice catch! The cape looks to be nylon and the limbs look blow molded. I'd bet that's a Mexican version of the Darth Vader that Kenner released.

Could be. I think the cape on mine is tied in front and I can't see the knot on this one.

yeah , vader goes for practacly nothing along with the rest of 12 in kenner line .this one was 20 but at least i didnt have to worry about shipping costs . i think it was nostalgia but im pretty sure i saw this figure so many years ago and that nobody seemed to care ,just collecting dust without even a price tag .

FWIW, something happened to the value of vintage Kenner Star Wats stuff in the past 10+ years since the "Special Editions" came out. Back in 1997, figures really sold for a high price. And carded? Through the roof.

Right now the prices are so low that even overpriced stores like Saint Marks Comics in NYC have carded 12-back cards selling for less than $200 right in the store.

I guess George Lucas's goal of releasing new films to create new merchandise so he could tap into the collector's market again worked well.. For him...

One of my favorite Vaders. I got my at a flea market for 5 bucks. The only problem is that it's too tall for all my shelves.
