I'm back on the east coast visiting my mom's house and I decided to delve into the basement boxes from childhood.
Most of these miniatures are from my own collection in the mid-eighties.
The farm animals are a random assortment and go back to my brother/sister from 1970-85 (roughly)
I have grouped them by company based on my superior skills of deduction. But since the majority of them are unmarked, I can't be sure.

Kinnikuman ripoffs, I think. MUSCLE fig for scale

Medusa, Martian, Swamp Thing, Unicorn
These are the only ones marked on the bottom.
They say "Diener Ind Inc"

Ripoffs of popular monsters. There is a similarity to the seams on the feet, which lead me to believe they are from the same company.

These are some real gems. Who knows what these are? Gargoyle, simple. Crocodile man with oboe? The martian is pretty straight forward, but the winged reptile man with Ringo Starr haircut is downright confusing (and awesome).

Rubber cavemen monsters somewhat reminiscent of My Favorite Monster. There are at least two more unique figures in this set floating around the house somewhere.

I have no idea what these are. If you know, please tell. I love them and I would be very happy to know what world they once inhabited.

Not M.A.S.K.

From a later toy franchise with much smaller vehicles.

Can't remember the name though.

I don't think they're from M.A.S.K. No magnets on the feet, but one leg has a little slot indented for some sort of playset. Maybe they are from MASK but they are about half the size of the normal mask figures that come with removable helmets and vehicles. I love the MASK car that ejects the spring-loaded speedboat, I've got that one here in the basement too.

These figures do say "Hasbro" in tiny letters on the back.

The dogs in the last pic are Daffy Dogs, very collectible cereal premiums from the U.K.

"Air Raiders". I had a bunch as a kid, really neat line. The gimmick was they came with a little thing you would squeeze that used air to propel the vehicle those figures fit in.

Thanks for the link Monkey. I do remember the vehicles now and slamming my fist down on the air-pump to make them move. what a silly gimmick. the character design of the soldiers/rebels is so much better than the vehicles. I feel they have a kinship with onell toys in some way (although obviously not as cool and changeable as onell).

what do y'all think about the cavemen monsters? odd thing about these is that they all seem to be slaves. all of them are shackled to some degree and I wonder if there was a "master" figure that owned them. if so, the socio-political traits scream racism. :twisted:

I agree wholeheartedly. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Matt Doughty *has* some of these kicking around his place and that they served as at least some influence on the Glyos figures!

It seems that the Diener toys came in happy meals and that the unlabeled toys pictured below the Diener Industries ones are also by that company.

These seem to be the later versions - the early ones were made of eraser rubber material - the ones in the McDonalds Happy Meals.

Those figures are playing pieces from a Game from the mid 80's. Goblins and Gargoyles? something or another.

I have a few of these kicking around somewhere. No Vehicles though. Cool little figures. Lots of detail. Just and FYI - MASK figures were larger and had removable MASK's, also fully painted.

The little rubber guy all the way to the left is a Rubber Ugly. Based on an Ugly Sticker with art by Basil Wolverton. Kind of collectible but have been reproduced to death over the years. Daffy Dogs have been ID'd (we had them in the US also). The other guy all the way to the right is Noah from the Plastic ARK set you got from Shell stations in the late 70;s. Most of the Animals are from that set. Antlar up front is from a Trashcan of Monsters sold by Mattel in the US form import toys from Japan - circa Shogun Warrior era.

the green dog with gloves is a Kellog's cereal premium (I have a blue one).

I think the redish-brown cyclops cowboy looking thing is also a Kellog's cereal premium.
