Unless he's moved recently, I don't think Toby is located in CA.

Yeah, Toby's in Western MA, if I'm not mistaken...

Anyway, isn't that NOT that wild a price for this guy? He's pricey as it is unbagged...

I think this figure is fairly common as I have seen a few loose ones (with or without the magnet still in place) listed on eBay over the years ending at less than $200.

But none have ever had the car...or been bagged but I still think this price is high.

Club Tokyo or Vintage Vinyl or Flynn?

Wow, higher than I would have expected. Sky is the limit when it comes to MIB. I wonder what this would have gone for on YJA.

That is awful interesting that an article was written on this toy and then like magick it appeared on Ebay shortly thereafter...

It happens.

Since the coverage of my Spazer, two have shown up. On eBay, one went for $15.6k...and a much dingier one just went for quite a bit MORE on Y!J.

Fucking crazy.

I'm just guessing here, but if it weren't for the articles written about these, they'd end up going for about half of what they did...

It was pretty funny that the bidding started out at nothing and hovered in the 30's for about 2 1/2 days... kept thinking "this can't last". Was wondering what a plot of the bid curve would look like... and then just decided to gnash teeth instead.

Mark's post was great. I thought what a fun piece to have especially with the Mat car that came with it.
I'll take a beat up one and use cheapo tin cars now.

It the market today seems like everything is cheaper, but then there is always a surprise. The magnet series vinyls usually get a fair price especially with the magnet in place. I would be surprised that they would be under 200 but ultra kaiju vinyls do not always fair well on ebay. The car is the main thing. That alone is very tough to find and can go for crazy prices, especially just thinking about the fact that it is a small tin car. The other interesting things are the header artwork. I have not seen this on other ultra jack figures(usually takkong and earthron). You also have the special insert for the magnet series. I personally always thought these were a great idea. The toy has an extra play ability factor. However, I was shocked by the ending price. Curious to know if the high bidder was from japan.

Has anybody ever seen an auction for just the tin vehicle?

That is shocked in the US, not in Japan. Yep seen a few for just the car over the years. That is how i got my car. I think it had a marusan gabara with it, but that was awhile ago.

You never see these with the car, in fact I do not have a car for any of mine, and I have two of this kaiju. The car and magnet are almost never with it. I could see a loose figure with no magnet for 250-300 normally, with magnet add $50-100 depending on the day. Loose with car? Easily $700++. Bagged? Yeah, it seems a bit high, but not surprising at all, and no, it was not me who won it. I bet there are not many bagged anywhere of the magnets. They are hard enough to find on their own, so I could see this even going higher if it would have been on yahoo.

The seller in Oakland is an old school punk/toy guy.
