Yo, thought I'd post this brog artile of pure toy love over here. Uncle Warren is like a benevolent deity who chooses to walk among us. Well...he's definitely one helluva nice guy. And once you get to know him, his big-heartedness, and his mind-boggling collection, the word "admiration" just doesn't quite cut the mustard.

Well, before I get all misty-eyed in writing this, I may as well turn it over to the pro's.

TBDX's Regan and JoshF visited Warren recently...and brogged about it here.

And here's just a small sampling of the pics they took to whet your appetite:

Amazing...there are so many collectors out there are truly next level and it's even better when they are good people.
Thank you.

There have to be at least a dozen toys that I've watched come and go at auction and thought: "Gulp. I'll never nail that one, what a beauty."

Just as an FYI, between Warren Schwartz and Sanford Moc, I don't think the US toy scene would have been half of what it was. Warren is the Godfather of the robot scene, and Sanford of the Kaiju/Tokusatsu scene. While there have been many other collectors from before, then and later, both of these guys were so generous with their information and finds it is hard to escape their influence, and you can trace them back to as close to day one as possible as serious adult collectors and information gatherers. Even crazier is that this is maybe 1% of Warren;s collection, and these pieces are so rare, to even see one is a task in of itself, much less hold one!

Also, these photos make warren look so much older than he is, who was in charge of makeup?

So true!

Warren is warm, lively, and all smiles! Clearly Josh's camera is busted--I mean, Josh, himself, looks like he's in his 20's or 30's...but we all know he's just an angsty teen! :P

Well to be fair I am a 35 year old teenager after all.

Yeah the lighting was a bit harsh, but Warren is more alive and sprightly than a guy more than half his age. Regan and I had a tough time keeping up with him that day.

And Brian is absolutely right. Warren is one of the pioneers in the hobby in terms of gathering of knowledge and as resident archaeologist for unknown pieces. I feel it is his genuine kind nature that makes knowing him most rewarding though. He does not have a bad bone in his body.Warren is a reminder that joy in this hobby is far better then stressing over one's collection, and that these are in fact toys. ;-)

So I posted another mini brog on my quick visit to Warren's today.

The Mach Baron I saw ... kills me.

And of course the mimb Takemi Pegas I was reunited with was bittersweet. ;-)

Enjoy.

It's Ok man, I know the over exposure to glowies may have caused some brain issues , so I won't go into why the Angilas is not superior to the Mechamachine. ;-)

makes me wonder if warren is ever going to set up his collection. all that amazing stuff all labeled and stored in boxes. only the lucky toys get to see the light of day every few years.
