Nah, I love 'em on trikes too but... Here's a vintage "Alps" made in Japan, tin & plastic hot rod my son and I discovered at a local antique show last week. Stop & go action, smoking radiator, engine lights up, rubber wheels! MIB to boot! Zagoran's first ride! I had a hard time finding a figure that would fit but the crouching Zag's torso along with his expression was perfect! The hot rod itself is 11 inches long, 5.5 inches wide and 5 inches tall...a really large and fun size for a tin, b.o. toy car. More pics on different Alps hot rod models and the Munsters hearse here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

They're just so hard to resist. Whether it's a wind up or battery operated, tin adds a whole other fun dynamic to collecting but at the same time another level of difficulty finding pieces that work. But, what I love about Japanese tin toys is the fantastic tin lithography a lot of them have so I can overlook it not working if it's wonderfully crafted. |
