zone fighter was kind of a breakthrough for me, as up to that point i had only collected kaiju. the dot com companies were almost dead, and prices on vintage toys were going back to normal. my friend john jackson had this on e bay, and i thought it would look good next to all the zone monsters. when i finally held it in my hands, i had an almost instant transformation into having to get more japanese heros. some of the zone kaiju were the earliest vintage i bought, mostly because i thought they were cool, and even better, they were cheap.

Each one better than the next! Jim, was there a vintage Zikiro ("Jikiro"?)? I have the recent (I assume) glowie made by Yutari, but I'm wondering if there were any toys made of him previously.

 I didn't know the zandora was not an original sculpt

These are fantastic especially the orange base guy on the pink backdrop,
great photography definitely helps also :)

As far as I can recall Charactics only does licensed characters - unless I am forgetting something.
Would love to see more classic kaiju by him in that "nice middle" size.

Off the top of my head, no. These were all made by Orange.

Gods, Jim. All of your toys are so clean. Disgusting. ;P

The vintage Bandai mini is somewhere in my sale thread.

It is NOT for sale. I am just lazy with my shitty photos...

That is awesome mini pickup. I am always hunting around for these guys, but their relative unpopularity (and hence current scarcity) drives the price quite a bit. I thought I posted this elsewhere somewhere, but here is my Bandai full size.

Removable mask I presume? Yeah that's the one I want eventually. I've had this Popy guy for a bit just got around to snapping a solo shot. He has standing issues so every once awhile I have to apply the heat.

Ultra sometimes I think you're the only guy interested in my vintage posts.

He's not.

I just don't have much to add...and "+1" and other useless posts add nothing and are a waste of bandwidth.

Keep doing your thing. I fucking love it.

Yep, it is indeed the removeable mask version, though I am in need of one of the standard Bandai heads if anyone has a junk figure or comes across one in their travels. I really like this guy, it was a hard buy at the time, but his helmet spike really makes him quite tall, and he looks great among other dudes.

Here's some Zone Fighter original art. The smaller two, I believe, are from some Cisco candy packaging. I have no idea what the larger one comes from. Colors are much brighter. My flash kind of wiped them out a little.
