Headshots, bits, and other close-ups

With so many great photographers here (me not being one of them) we really need a thread dedicated to the detail on vintage vinyl. Karate-chops, high-noon stares, toothy growls, ass-kickin' boots, slimy scales - let's see that elegance and artistry of toy design.

My old point-and-shoot is utter rubbish for macro shots, but I'll get it started.

i don't know about you guys, but for me, the just-sloppy-enough paint combined with flecks of pocked colors from other toys and edge wear on these vintage fellows warms the heart.

Fantastic shot Jordan, I love that Gudon, he has such a great expression. Here is one of my Mephilas from the same line.

Is that come kind of 'filtering' or what is going on on her lady-chest? I actually like the speckled look of it, even if it is weird vinyl aging/damage.

The blue is a fleck that runs throughout the vinyl itself. In hand she appears to be a pleasing pale blue, not that you could ever convince my fool camera of that!

Even more pleasant then, with an overall blue tinge. Dang you and your hidden treasures. You need to go on more attic expeditions!

Is that the Chokinzoku, Wayne? It sure looks like it, but he shouldn't be shoulder to shoulder with a Jumbo Mazinger!

Hell yeah we need a jumbo T-28 though! I've got a soul for sale, any takers?

HA!

Yeah, certainly nothing wrong with the Jumbo, of course...but there's just something about the chrome and glossy paint on the Chokinzoku that make it so much more glorious, in my opinion.
