Is it possible to get "kanji" characters to show up in posts on the board, rather than appearing as questions marks??? |

This is a browser or system-related issue. I routinely see kanji characters on a number of phpBB boards. |

Back on Safari. Try it again. ????? ????????? No luck! This is exactly what I posted using Firefox and it worked fine. Any special settings I need to use in Safari? What do you guys have your "default encoding" set to under "Appearance" in Safari preferences? |

When I use Safari, it turns all the Kanji characters into question marks. Can anybody that is using Safari POST Kanji to this board? If so, there's something wrong with my Safari preferences or settings. |

I was using the term Kanji, inappropriately, to refer just to japanese fonts. Another protip I could use is how to make the japanese fonts show up in my posts here when I use Safari. Anybody? From Wikipedia: In modern Japanese, kanji are used to write parts of the language such as nouns, adjective stems and verb stems, while hiragana are used to write inflected verb and adjective endings (okurigana), particles, native Japanese words, and words where the kanji is too difficult to read or remember. Katakana is used for representing onomatopoeia, non-Japanese loanwords, and for emphasis on certain words. Hiragana is a Japanese syllabary, one component of the Japanese writing system, along with katakana and kanji; the Latin alphabet is also used in some cases. Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems, in which each symbol represents one mora. Each kana is either a vowel (such as a ?); a consonant followed by a vowel (such as ka ?); or n ?, a nasal sonorant which, depending on the context, sounds either like English m, n, or ng (IPA: [?]), or like the nasal vowels of French. Hiragana are used for words for which there are no kanji, including particles such as kara ?? "from," and suffixes such as ~san ??
