Also consider addling links on the index page or at the top of every page:

I believe one would add code to the index.php page:
CODE: SELECT ALL
<li class="icon-home"><a href="http://www.super7store.com" title="Home"> super7store </a></li>

so you could have links across the top and it might look like:

Board index >> Nitty Gritty > FAQs space Super7Store space Super7 Blog space Twitter/B_Flynn space FAQ

Just making this up as I type so maybe Flynn doesn't want his twitter feed advertised or maybe Pogue does.
Who knows. But it would put links in front of everyone's eyes including the luddites and the noobies.

I'd be thrilled if this became a reality. Save a lot of time from doing the back and forth pm'ing.

Every time I post a line in chat, I'm going to say, "chat message sent."

10,000 post count, here I come!

I hope this becomes a reality :P . Too bad we can't have webcam hookups, so I can hold up toys and pester people with questions directly! :D

Anyone else use Skype? It would be great for this purpose, I use it for voice and text chatting - seems more widely used than iChat or AOL etc.

I'm not keen on posting my username here as it's a public part of this forum and I could end up getting skype-spammed, but if anyone else uses it and wants it please pm...

I could set up a SB group in my address book :D

IRC would be a lot less expensive. It's free.

1 of their programs can be found here. www.mirc.com All you do is pick a server, join a room, like #skullbrain then it creates the room, and register it with chanserv. And your good to go. Free & Easy.

We don't have enough bandwith for chat. It would cost us another $60 per month to upgrade our service so its a no go for now. Sorry.

Thanks for the info Pogue... jcrazy's got the right idea tho... just establishing an irc chatroom would be an accessible and easy way to do it. Just set some designated chat times to try and maximize people, and we could have some fun.

Post subject:  Re: Consider Adding Realtime Chat to the Board

I have it set up.

Go to: http://www.mirc.com
download the program
install it, open it
once its opened in the status window type:
/server irc.aohell.org
then it will connect you, once your connected type:
/join #skullbrain
and thats all you have to do. will be fun to see all of you in there and chat.

Post subject:  Re: Consider Adding Realtime Chat to the Board

oh yeah, and mirc has a message window that pops up for a brief second while the program is loading, it asks you to buy/donate the program. But you don't have to if you don't want to. If you buy it then that pop up wont come up, if you don't then it'll come up. Only on startup of the program though and no other time.

too bad the chat is a no-go because sometimes trade PMs would be better resolved in a single sitting rather than a week of PMing.

As for a skype video chat going on... that would mean i actually have to get dressed when im on the computer which defeats the purpose  plus, i picture peoples faces to LITERALLY be their avatar so that might mess me up haha

I'm sure a fair amount use some kind of IM. I have 3-4 ppl on IM and use trillian so I get updates on Twitter, FB, and since no one uses the same IM service, it's a big help to have trillian manage it all.

yes...if you use AIM, YIM, MSN, Skype all at once, you can use Trillian to have them all running and you can set it so you only log-in to Trillian and it logs into all the other IM crap. Although Skype on Trillian is kinda annoying because it opens both the skype window and the trillian window...or maybe i just have it set wrong.
