On hoarding

So it's like this. Leading up to the time I joined this board I bought multiples of certain toys and didn't really know that kind of behavior was unacceptable. It started with the idea of painting multiple versions and keeping them all on display. The more I read the more I understand exactly how lame that type of thing is.

Now that I understand it's a majorly shitty thing to do how do I make it right? I bought them all off of YJA or eBay and if I sell them at a fair price to SB'ers I will definitely be losing a fair bit of cash...which I am definitely cool with as long as it gets me back into good graces. Is it as simple as giving collectors here a shot at a fair price?

This is a serious question but feel free to flame away. I know what I did was shitty and I really am sorry for it. This board's been good to me so I want to make this right.

I'm sure plenty of Sb'ers won't have a problem helping you right this wrong  bring it!

Yeah seriously, I will gladly help you with this :D

But honestly "fair" is a pretty relative term and at the end of the day it needs to be what you think is fair, not what exactly others think is fair. You're the one that bought the item in the first place.

there's no reason for you to lose money to make anything "right" unless the toys just don't sell at those prices. plenty of folks here buy multiples for customizing, which is what you seemed to have in mind originally. i don't see why you couldn't go through with that plan. you might get some flak for "ruining" toys, but that's your prerogative. just don't trade-flip.

^^ what bbb said. don't let us capitalize on your guilt. put it up for what you feel it's worth, and then go from there.
the bst has a great way of self-correcting over inflated prices, but i don't think anyone will say "you should be charging more." =p

^ bill has a point as well... (just don't tell him that, we'll never hear the end of it.)

Well, to be honest, they were limited run WF items. The Gargamel Marios to be precise. I started snatching them up while I was still heavy into video game collecting but now that I know what they are and how limited of a run they were I do feel guilty holding onto so many of them.

I wanted to build a shelf of all the 'pre-glove' Mario palette swaps buuuut I just don't feel right keeping them out of other collectors' hands. I am definitely leaning towards letting them go. Thanks for the advice all!
