OK, so I was planning to go to pick up my Deathra on the 15th and have b-fast for anyone that wanted to join me, but now I have a cherry on top. Steve Weib is going to be at the reopening of Logan Hardware (corner of Fullerton and Western) to reclaim his title as King of Kong. I signed up for the 3:30 to 5:00PM. If anyone wants to join in world history we can meet up, have some b-fast, chill out and then go watch the NEW KING OF KONG!

To sign up, go to http://www.logan-hardware.com/ and then select the time slot to view. It's gonna be awesome!

And I totally need to find an american flag and a sweet mullet. That's actually an awesome halloween costume, billy mitchell and a King Kong cabinet!

Oh pictures will be taken! It's history in the making! I figured the first attempt is going to be the best one.

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

Ha, that's always the hard part! I'm down for just about anything, is there anything around western and fullerton?

Author:  sbbenhcs [ Wed Jan 05, 2011 3:28 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

there's not much right at fullerton and western that i know of (other than
genesis art supply). but if we call it lunch, there's 90 miles cafe (cuban) to
the south (armitage at rockwell) and then there's either fat willy's (bbq) or
the owen engine (pub) to the north (western at schubert). and i know mihn
(minh?) will argue the point, but fat willy's is DAMN GOOD. =p

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

cuban or bbq works for me.

Been to Fat Willy's once and will gladly go back.
Haven't been to 90 mile yet so this would be a good excuse.

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

The problem with 90 mile is that it is small, and if we have 7-8 people it is going to be really cramped.
I would love to go once it starts getting warm!
Fat Willy's would be cool by me.

Sounds like a ton of fun, but sadly I can't make it :( ... Oh well, but I'm still planning to pick up the show pieces most likely Sunday night, possibly Monday night.. Is anyone going to the Squadt show on the 14th?

Anywho, take a lot of pictures at the King of Kong event! :D

I'm in! Signed up for the 3:30 viewing also.
There is a 90 Miles Cafe location near Armitage and Western which is a regular sized resturant, so that gets my vote. Also, it is near Challengers Comics and I need to stop by there briefly for a book signing the same day.
As Chris said, I'm not a big fan of Fat Willy's...but as most of you also know, I will eat anything if put in front of me :)
Hanging out with cool people + Japanese toys + food + comics + video games = Perfect day!

What time are we meeting up at Roto?

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

I did not know that there was another 90 miles, but that sounds awesome. Who is doing the book signing? That sounds like a plan to me though, because Cuban food is awesome!

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

you were thinking of the 90 miles on clybourn? silly bryan, that's what
directions are for! sounds like cuban it is, then. gonna get me some
fried plantain action...

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

I've only been to one, so whatever! :)
Sorry, it's just I haven't had Cuban for almost a year, and I know Nicole will shit herself (she's from Miami) when I tell her Cuban is on the menu.

NOOOOO!
Steve needs our help more than ever as both his and Billy Mitchell's scores have been beat, I will root for a Teacher (even a substitute music teacher) over a dentist any day of the week.

Yeah, I just read that this morning: http://www.twingalaxies.com/index.aspx?c=27&id=2343

Should be an interesting event!

from the interview:
I also knew Steve Wiebe was trying over the summer but heard he was having some vertigo issues.

What the hell? From standing too long? Or just from staring at those neon lights for like 3 HOURS!

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

Because I'm lazy: Do we have a solid time/place for the 15th? Skimming the thread it seems like nothing is 100%, but again, lazy, not reading right now.

Post subject:  Re: King of Kong

Hehe I'm glad I'm not the only lazy one at reading the interwebs. So here is the plan, meet at roto at noon go to 90 mile for food and then Steve Weib. I know you have to work. Is that to late for lunch? I figured we wouldn't be at roto long.
