Post subject:  sbbenhcs' toy photography

if you've seen my flickr, you know i love photographing toys. and i've got to admit that my photography has
been driving a lot of the particular toy purchases i've made recently... but the one set of toys that i'd really like
to get my hands on to shoot is the wonderfest ojisan & kanakuri grody shoguns. (which of course are pretty
hard to come across right about now...)

but that got me thinking, "what if i could borrow a set to photograph?" and that, in turn, led me to a realization:
there are SO many great toys that i'll probably never get a chance to own, and therefore likely never photograph.
and that's where you guys come in: i'm proposing taking pictures of YOUR toys. and what better way that to
start with the people closest to me (geographically, not necessarily emotionally... *cough*bryan*cough*), CASK!

i can cover film and development costs, and provide digital scans (i'm talking film photography here...). of course
if you want prints, i can arrange for those as well, but you would need to pony up for those on your own. all i need
are great toys, and maybe a few ideas where i could/should shoot them.

so give it some though, and let me know what you've got if you're interested.

cheers!

Ummm, you let me know, would I like you to take pictures of my toys?
Does the Pope poop in the woods?
Does a bear wear a funny hat?
Well no, but I still want you to take pictures of my toys, because I'm horrible at it. We'll work out some details, I think it would be super awesome.

Sounds like fun! I'm up for it if you'll find something you'd want to photograph.
Which photography class are you taking? I took a black and white film photography class years ago, it was really fun. I spent countless of hours in the photo lab developing film and photos, it was intense. I hope to take a class like that again, but I have to focus on other things at the moment :P ..

cool, gad to hear you guys are interested! there's no rush to any of this, so whenever we can figure something out,
it'll happen then... :D

and i'm not taking any classes at the moment, v. i really want to go over and do classes at the chicago photographic
center just up the road from roto on lincoln, but i'll probably be putting that off until after the new year. (i've got to
go out of town a bit in the next couple of months, so i'd end up missing a fair few classes from the upcoming session,
so i'm just going to wait it out.)

^ I gotchya Chris :)

I misread that one portion where you said "talking film photography..." I actually read it as that you are "taking" film photography, oops, lol.

Anyways, that would be awesome if you do wind up taking classes there, hopefully that will work out for you when you are ready ;)
