Living on the street in the winter can be... challenging. The squirrels are hungry.

Damn. It's cold out here.

First apartment visit is tomorrow.

Hit me up fellow montrealers if you want to have a drink some time.

Ha, welcome to Montreal Moshi! You have certainly picked an 'ideal' time to arrive. Ah well, I miss Montreal in the snow a lot, even though it can be a pain sometimes. Good luck tomorrow, hope you find a decent place soon. My advice on best cheap beer is Boréale - most deps have it, and if you shop around you can find it at great prices; tasty, cheap, abundant - what more can you ask for? :) And plenty of great microbrews for when you want/can splurge a bit.

I just heard about the dump of snow, freezing rain, and major power outages in Ontario and Quebec. Hope everyone here is OK, has power, and is able to stay warm!

We moved in our new apartment on the 31st, way to start a new year !

Only issue is that we only have a bed in here ahah. I need to buy cooking stuff asap or we'll only live on pizza here :P

Shucks, I could have hooked you up with all the kitchen stuff you could have needed too. Bad timing, sorry Moshi. I have never had much success with Salvation Army, Village des Valeurs, or Renaissance Fripe-Prix stores in Montreal, but you can also find some cheap stuff in Chinatown, and I highly recommend Winners for great stuff for cheap. They don't have small appliances and whatnot, but for pans, glasses, cookware, etc., it is by far the best deals, and you can often find some good quality stuff too.

Congrats on the apartment guys!

Any Montrealers interested in a small get together in the future ?

Like for a bagel, sushis, ice skating or whatever ? GF, dogs, pet snakes included maybe ?

Not especially this month but maybe March.

Just an idea :D

Cheers,

Arnaud

Aw, I miss the city so much. :(

How are things going Moshi? Settling in to Montreal and school I hope. I noticed on some shots outside the Bell Centre that there was barely any snow, but I hear it has been fairly cold. Thankfully you are never too far from a dépanneur. :P

@ultrakaiju, things are going good, bunch of work at school but I still have way enough time for me! Weather is not too bad so that's great.

@sensensempompom, sounds good to me!

Gentleman of the North. If you're into Kaws, Coarse Toys or Bearbricks, I suggest a trip down to Toronto to check out the 'This Is Not A Toy' exhibit that just opened.

Pics, video etc. here. http://ow.ly/ttrkD

Random question : Anyone knows a great barbershop where I can get a clean haircut for like $20?

Go west on Duluth. Just before St Laurent there's a nice little Portuguese barber shop on the south side.
Did you find some French style coffee place yet ?

Post subject:  Re: Tabernak! Où sont les Canadiens?

Thanks, I'll check it out.

I don't drink coffee so I didn't really looked for those, I wish I'll find a cheap bakery though!

How was your trip in Paris ?
