I'll be there with a bunch of friends. We've had tickets since last month. Will toys be available for sale?

Cancelled? That does suck. Next time you need to get the word out more. I think this would have been a great event, and although ticket sales may be low, many people would have purchased their tickets today or tomorrow. I know I had intended to take my son, Dave, who was looking forward to it. It would have been the topper to his soon to be over, Super 7 year. Hope you guys can make it out in 2008 -- how about around WonderCon time???

Let's see some sanctioned fighting! Let's see some theatre!!

LAME!

From KBB website...

We are very sad to report that, due to situations beyond our control, Kaiju Big Battel has been forced to cancel this week's San Francisco and Los Angeles events.

The Kaiju Commissioner made this statement:

"This decision to cancel the Kaiju Big Battel events in Los Angeles and San Francisco WAS NOT made by Kaiju Big Battel. If we had it our way, we would be crushing your city this week.

We thank you very much for your desire to support Kaiju Big Battel. Our fans are truly important to us, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused them. We hope to make it back to your city soon."

For those fans already holding tickets, refunds are available at the point of purchase.

it wasn't our choice to cancel that decision came from the venue/promoters

The wrecked economy is affecting large venue shows, the show was cancelled due to poor advance ticket sales, in fact, the Sisters of Mercy was moved from the Fillmore to the Grand Ballroom, due to only 500 ticket sales. Since "Kaiju Big Battel" has never performed in SF before, might have added to the dilemma. Also, the night after, the Fillmore had "Lucha Va Voom" -- I wonder how their ticket sales were (I had to work and couldn't attend).

As the former creator-performer-promoter of "Incredibly Strange Wrestling" my suggestion is that "Kaiju Big Battel" take their show to smaller, independent venues in San Francisco -- with room for a wrestling ring -- such as the DNA Lounge or Fat City (formerly the Transmission Theater). The latter is where ISW got it's start and they were our most fun and wild shows.

Ironking, if you'd like, I'm friends with the owners/managers of both venues, and can put in a good work to make a KBB show happen in San Francisco. If you're at all interested, hit me up on PM.

Cheers!
