In case people don't click on the link:

Kimono My House, considered by many to be the best Japanese Toy Store in the U.S. for the past 20+ years, is closing its doors. Most every serious collector of vintage and modern Japanese toys from die-cast and vinyl to plastic and plush can still tell you the story of their first visit to Kimono My House, often recalling a very long drive from afar, having a difficult time finding the shop, and crossing a warehouse roof sidewalk lined with broken Jumbo Machinders, to have their minds blown by what they saw inside.

On January 24th at 2pm, an informal party will be held at Kimono My House, to send them off with a bang! For anyone in the area with fond memories of Kimono My House, this is a party not to be missed.

Dave and I met Mark Nagata, Max and some friends over there right before Christmas, and I went back last weekend. The store is amazing and will be missed. I will try to be there on the 24 for a festive goodbye.

Even though I worked there for over two years, I can't attend tomorrow's closing party, because I will be at the memorial service for local horror icon, Bob Wilkins (the host of "Creature Features") in Oakland. I'll have to give Yuki a call, unless we can stop by after the memorial on the way back to San Francisco.

Here is a tip for everyone: pick up a copy of GODZILLA FANTASIA while there. It is fantastic to watch and listen to.

Did anyone on SB make this? I could not go, unfortunately. Got any pictures? Must have been fun.

I was there. A pretty bitter-sweet experience. There was a large turn-out (in toy-geek terms). I saw a few SBer's and an abundance of old-school TBDXers.
