Yeppers! :D
I'll post a photo of him once he arrives. I am curious to see what condition he is in (you never know, until they arrive). I wonder who got the King Zaurus pachi--that was another awesome figure!

If you haven't yet had a chance to catch the Bali exhibit, it's well worth the visit:
http://www.asianart.org/Bali.htm
Don't forget to click on EVENTS, lots of goodies there. Try to catch a mask dance if you can, there is a mask carving and dance July 23, 24, and the shadow puppet show promises to be interesting as well.

Ugh. Working from home at close to 1AM.
Some crazy things will go on at a 12 story building and 7 story parking garage at 1AM in downtown Fresno.
Just hoping I don't have to go in. At least here I can read about toys too.

Hello, just checking in after a bit of a hiatus. Thank you Lixx for reawakening the Kaiju bug in me :) . I have kittees in the house again! Adopted two large marbled tabbies--Henry and Emma (brother and sister, 19.5 lbs. and 17 lbs.). Their original owners gave them up for adoption, because they grew too large!

The "little" one, Emma is at the bottom. The monster, Henry, is half sucked in by the couch :P

Here is their adoption video:

Henry really does do that beggy thing--all the time! I even catch him begging to an inanimate object (i.e. table or a dustbin), when I walk into the room--silly kitty :P
Hope everyone is well!

Yes, believe it or not, Emma is the "small" one on the bottom. They've both been on a diet, as they were way to pudgy, especially for being only 1.5 years old. Emma went from 17 lbs, and she's now 15 lbs. Henry is a toughie--he likes to eat... LOTS! I tease him and call him "the Roman senator". He likes to lay on his side, right beside the food dish, and scoop out the dry kibble with his paw, into his large awaiting jaws (just like the Romans dining on couches, lying on their side, while being fed grapes). He eats his wet food like a dog--i.e. he takes big BITEfuls (no dainty licking here), and he doesn't stop to breathe (fun to watch!), making loud scoffing sounds too :) . Food is everything to Henry! :-D. He's still jiggling at 18.5 lbs. They are both giants! I wanted to rename them after Kaiju, but they've had their names as kittens, and come when they are called.

Both are super friendly and will climb into your lap or insist on sleeping (on top!) of you (if you let them). BUT, they are extremely rambuncious! They chase each other when they are playing, thunder up and down the stairs (they sound more like dogs!), and will crash into anything and everything. I've had to put all breakables, including toys, either in cases or in storage until I find a display case. They don't break things out of maliciousness, but because they can be very clumsy or inquisitive. They are really more like dogs, and they are soooo affectionate and cute (of course! ). Never had an issue with toys breaking with my other cats, but these two are quite different!

P.S. Thank you Lixx. Kaiju (esp. vintage) is always a good thing

Thank you Daniel :P . Good to see you again too!
I wanted to rename the kittees "Buta" and "Hana", but as I mentioned, they'd already had gotten used to their names

Can't sleep, eating freshly frozen tangerine sections--mini popsicles :D

^^^ Thank you! :P
Did you know that Jumbo kittees also snore? :) Henry is busy sawing wood. Had to wake up and... (danger Will Robinson!) shop for toys  :D . Managed to adopt green cuteness at 3:55am. The only problem is that I must keep it from the clutches of Henry and Emma, or else it will result in toy destruction

P.S. What happened to all of the night owls and owlettes around here? I can practically hear crickets :) (and snoring cats)

Where are all of the night owl BASKers? Ah well, if you are still up, can you figure out just what those kittehs are looking at:

The calico (i think his name is creamy chan, at least according to the translator) has been staring intently for the last 15 mins! What are those things scattered in the garden? Tiny dolls with tangerine heads? Sigh... back to work!

GLOWING SAND! :P ... or emergency earthquake light source?
http://www.thegardenofglass.com/apps/st ... oupid=1201

A gardening friend of mine was discussing glowing sand, and it got me thinking this would be grrrrreat to fill your transparent Kaiju with! Seems amazing that after exposing the sand to 10 minutes of light, it remains glowing for 12+ hours! So, in the event of an earthquake, and when all the power goes out, you can carry around your favorite toy and use it as a light source :P

There used to be some kind of GID yard that had interesting possibilities too. Years ago I found it advertised somewhere on the web, but I never saw it in person. Neat idea with lots of cool applications.
