Has anyone seen the film yet?
It's getting good reviews it seems.
Gonna try to catch it this weekend.

Anyone else hunt down all the Banksy pieces yet?
I sent my friend out with her nice camera and tripod yesterday.

Here are all the locations:

Yes, we went when it opened here in Boston and the theater was packed and it made a very shitty week a whole lot better.

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, although snobs might say otherwise, I thought it was well done and funny. And it made me hate another artist quite a bit, but I digress...

I haven't checked out the film yet but plan to.

btw someone unknown pranked on Banksy's Indian and it's pretty damn hilarious...especially for those who live in SF, Frank Chu has been seen everywhere for many many years carrying his crazy 12 Galaxies sign...

that's a pretty cool video. i caught it last weekend, definitely worth seeing. afterwards i ran around town with a friend trying to capture the one on howard and the other one in the mission ("...look nice framed..." piece) with my g9. it was a bit of a challenge cause it was around 10pm and thankfully the lighting was ok with a little help from the camera as well.

So is it definite at this point that Banksy was in town and that these weren't done by Blek le Rat?

The godfather of street art and a big inspiration for a lot of the guys currently creating beautiful things on walls.

Yeah, as well as a stencil artist who does have a show in SF, currently. That's why some are saying "it's not Banksy."

On the other hand, Banksy does sometimes travel to do his thing for no other reason, and the works definitely look like his. The "dripping gold brick" even more than the stencils IMHO.

he's been going all over the US to promote the flick.. you can usually verify that it in fact a banksy if you look on his site ( www.banksy.co.uk )

My wife and I saw the film this weekend, and I highly recommend it! Although some people seem to think that the film itself is a prank, fiction or not, it's a great story and it's told well. The footage of these guys climbing up on rooftops and doing their paste-ups is great, especially when real things happen, like a foot slips and shit goes crashing down. It's also fun to see the art.

Go see it. It's better than hollywood crap.

I wouldn't want to spoil the film for others, but I think MBW isn't real.

what makes you think he is not real? i remember the obey site promoting his LA show and i was wondering... "who the hell is this? why is he being hyped?" and he also did the cover of the madonna album. personally I am not a fan.
