I just got this this week. I've been wanting one for awhile and once again a generous friend hooked me up: |

It's just brilliant that a Porche would convert into a drag racer. They're on two far ends of the spectrum as race cars go. Such a weird idea. |

It's my favorite thing about Microman (aside from clear plastic and chrome). Takara was trying all kinds of stuff over the years. Some of it does seem totally crazy but to me in the way I kid might come up with. Super pre-cursor of Transformers haha. |

I'm a much bigger fan of the later New Microman robot stuff, but there is an undeniable coolness to the Cosmoporsche. |

There was this magical point in the 1970s when toys were a wee bit goofier than “tough” and this is a stunningly perfect example. Very little rhyme or reason for this. But I do remember there being TONS of knock-off-ish Porsche cars for kids back then. |

Someone tell RWB to build a tribute. They specialize in retro 70's/80's racing Porsches like the Cosmoporsche seems to be based on. All that's missing are racing stripes and huge intake pipes sticking out of the back! Japanese company doing German cars soooo right. Recent scan of article |
