Owner claims its a 1983 Bandai Mazinger---with box but doesn't have a pic.
Looks pretty new from the photo.
Any comments?

Thanks Roger. So curious myself as the owner said he got it from a thrift shop but it doesn't look dated to me at all. Thanks for the advice. |

Don't know specifically, but will say you need to be careful when someone claims a date on something from Japan since they are not as paranoid about renewing copyright each year. Here in the U.S., companies always update copyrights since we're just such a lawsuit addled country. In Japan, lots of toys will have the copyright date of some copyright date in the past since companies don't worry about renewing that much. Like in the case of Microman, lots of toys in the 1980s had a 1974 copyright on them, and TF collectors who don't know better actually think they date back to the 1970s. |
