these look so cool painted up. it's an honor lee, really. here's another pic of the apocalypse parade minis. there's one or two sculpts missing from this pic. there are 6 figs in the set: snailion, wing'd rhino, hippo-cherub, conch elk, bombardier gorilla, and the piper. i guess the piper is the one fig not pictured.

thanks guys. that's Mori Katatsumuri, mad-geneticist disgraced and terminated by a japanese dried seafood snack company. his mutant sea urchin Uni-chan has a unique DNA structure that allows her to absorb other mollusks and use them as a part of her valve system. She once absorbed the giant clam on her tummy and gained enough pressure power in the valve system to create sonic booms and even speak at a childish level. Accidentally destroying her creator's body with one of her first sonic booms, Mori was forced to attach his head to the body of a giant sea-snail in order to survive. Uni-chan has the mentality of a fourteen year old girl and wants to be a pop-singer, Mori Katatsumuri wants revenge against a world that has rejected his gifts. Here's a pic of the packaging: The header card has an extra large front side. like a mini-print. The design for this one is meant to look like the cover to the cd of some band from high school. back of header is hand stamped with the image of tilly, patron saint of palace amusements, asbury park, new jersey.  here's a neopolitan Uni-chan resin (three colors of resin, no paint) amongst some "doomed penguins" which were my first sculpt. quick story behind the penguins: global warming leads to the next ice age. once the earth becomes uninhabitable due to extreme cold, humans will move underground and survive off of the earth's core and its thermal energy. when the earth is deemed fit for life, man will tunnel up from the bowels of the earth only to be greeted by this dim silhouette against a bleakly shining sun. the doomed penguin has become solid and statuesque in composition, having undergone a petrification much like that of petrified wood in the petrified forest (real place. look it up if you haven't heard about it.) having been one of the few creatures able to survive the extreme cold of the early ice age, their bodies slowly froze and became dessicated over centuries of frost. i stirred up some trouble last night. this is post-cleanup.  that big box with the bucket on it is not empty. 15 hours until de-molding. i really don't want to wait, but i suppose it'll all go wrong if i don't. |
