Hello fellow skullbrainers. Since most of your are not in Germany, here is a preview of my upcoming resin mini figure. Though if you are in Kassel, Germany today stop by at Rotopol to see it with your own eyes. The opening of the "Secret Service" show is at 9pm.

Image

Charlize Harlow was the first of a line of self-conscious and autonomous programs developed for stealth information gathering missions. Nearly undetectable through her shape shifting abilities and equipped with multi-dimensional-meta-syntax analysis subroutines made her the state of the art intelligence tool. However, she never returned from her first mission. It has been impossible to determine whether she has been simply hacked and hijacked or if she decided to vanish on her own...

prototype wax master
2.5" small
7 parts
removable hat
4 points of articulation
peg inserted swivel joints at the head, arms and hip

release some time in december

I've said it before, but this guy is insane. 2.5 inches tall!!! I can't wait to see him painted up or done in clear. Great job Daniel, you're keeping the rest of us on our toes.

I thought I'd write a litte update on this. I actually managed to screw up the silicone mold on this one and the master so the resin pieces you see in the picture below are the only pieces remaining. So, this weekend I pieces them together, painted the whole thing with acrylics and a little effect paint from a rattle can.

After screwing up the mold:

After painting the resin pieces you see above:

Spraying the acrylics with the rattle can stuff produced a weird organic "hammered" surface effect. I need to find out more about this and use it to my advantage.

And for reference a group picture with other toys.

So, this will remain the only piece of this sculpt. Since the mold is so bad I can not make new ones and I do not want to make a mold of the painted resin sculpt. However, I still have some pieces of the master and they will make an appearance in a new version some time soon... ;)

It's a real shame about the mold, cuz this guy is too cool. The removable elements + brain/tongue = super-win. AND he's freaking micro. Nice paint too!

Bummer! Its a rad little figure. I did that with a piece I did last year. Learning curves suck! Can't wait to see what you come up with next time.

Thanks you two. Learning curves can be painful sometimes. But I am not going to make these mistakes again. As I said, I have some pieces left and they will resurface sooner or later, though the outcome will be completely different from what you see here. This one is not only a one off but the only one of its kind. Just like in the story I quoted in the first post.

Do a larger size if you're not done with this character.

No larger size but a different approach. To be released in an edition of ten at my upcoming TAG show.
