Nice detailing on the duck head. The goat head is my favorite. Nice work |

When Old Toby was first unveiled everyone went nuts. So nice to see the three-headed guy making a comeback. |

Whoa, wow. I really like the texture and details, and I always like to see multiple resin pours showing through in a finished product. |

I keep coming back to this. I wish it was vinyl, and all the heads where jointed so you could twist them around. Same for the arms and legs. Honestly man this just rules on so many levels, I love the textures around the neck area, and the animals you choose. How the 2 end crittters are beaked animals as it really pulls the goat out. How about a 4th pig head in the crouch area ![]() Cant wait to see more. |

A hand puppet from that line was used for part of the body. the front half was originally cast from a different figure. i then retooled the front torso using a variety of tools on the resin casting of the torso. The altered cast torso was then connected to the clay necks and animal heads with more clay. The back half of the beast is more representative of the original bootlegged body and has not been as retooled as the front torso, arms, and legs. The majority of my mixed object/sculpture pieces do not survive the molding process and are taken out of the finished silicone molds in chunks and pieces. I'm moving towards all original sculpting for some pieces but I doubt that I'll ever abandon the mixed/found/mass-produced media collage type of sculpt. For me, the process of making the "sculpture" and molds and casting your own figures comes from a desire to circumvent the systems of production that normally define toy production. (edit) i forgot to say thanks for all the supportive words everybody. it is very encouraging! thanks again |

uberboy wrote: photos by Joe ![]() ![]() Jan and I almost went home with this awesome thing, but Flynn snagged it in the final turn of the White Elephant exchange. This figure has a nice size and weight to it. The little air bubbles around the neck area actually add to the neat texture of the sculpt. Good work, Slim. Let's see a fully painted version. |
