Scroll down for finished figures. Some of you may have seen this on my flickr. But I thought I'd post up the next ghoul from Splurrt (still working on a name.) I thought I'd post it now, as I want to get some Executioners rolling out before I produce this guy, so it may take a while before I get around to resins. I know a ghoul in a robe isn't an original idea, but I was inspired by all the cartoon phantoms that have made life a little spookier, I thought the figure needed to be made. So I made it. He's about 4.5" with peg joint hands. Let me know your thoughts. (Sorry for the crappy pics. My camera broke so I've been using my cell phone.) ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, that's one of the many ghouls that inspired this guy to. You should still do one. A WKY ghoul would be pretty cool. I'll trade you a ghoul for a ghoul. |

I want one of those. The hand is suitably creepy. |

Thanks guys. Hopefully it won't be too long until I get to these, just have to see how long it takes to get some Executioners rolled out first. Rich, I think of the Obake you've painted, and I think you'd do a killer job on these. Will definitely be hollering at you about painting some. |

It gets better and better, will it have a face or just the cloak without a face ? Either way I'm real excited ! |

Post subject: | Re: New Ghoul |
Right now no face. I wanted that black faceless cartoon ghoul where you can't see into the robe. In the future, I'd like to do a release with a face plate - probably using a magnet to attach it, but I don't want to promise it anytime soon. You know how it is trying to do your own stuff while working full time. I only have so much time for Splurrt ![]() |

Well keep it up, when you have a family of toys made you will be stoked. That said, I'm really excited for this particular character. So much can be done with a minimal design. You can paint on eyes, of add in doll eyes. or do nothing etc... I cant wait ! |

Once I have this guy and the Executioner made, I'd really like to see some painted by the customizers on this board. I'll probably try to do some cheap blanks for customizers, maybe even try to organize a small custom show if there's interest. Anyway, A few things on the hands were bugging me, so I did some retouching on them this weekend. Here's the final sculpt revealed. ![]() |

It's great how the folds of his robe give the feeling he is creeping toward you... |

I would add folds to the front of the robe to give it some texture unless you're putting something there. Looks good though and the hands turned out awesome. |

I think the clear hands on the white one makes me like it more than the black. Their both awesome though!! |

I love this toy! The cleanness of the lines as your eye moves around the the figure, the empty hood, and the complexity of the hands, all work together to create a really amazing piece. I can't get over how "modern" the head looks http://artinvestment.ru/content/downloa ... yasuda.jpg MH did a great job! I would take both of them in a minute. |

Thanks everyone. I'm glad so many people are liking the figure. It was a toy I really wanted to see made and have in my collection. I'm glad people are making their own associations and connecting it to characters they've enjoyed. And MH really did do a great job, I couldn't be happier with the casts. The first release will actually be a red robe with clear hands. |
