I want to start degassing the silicon prior to making molds.

Which make/model pumps are people using, and how successful are they?

Just put in an order for a mid range TASCO model. The thing that was confusing me was the micron rating vs inHg, but I think I've got it sussed now.

Anyway, If it works I should have some transparent toys up here within a week :D

What do you think of your de-gasser?

Seems to work fine, though I don't get as close to perfect vacuum as I'd like. According to the net searching I did after it looks like the silicon may not need degassing if you compress the mould while the silicon is curing. Maybe use the 'bombs away' (check youtube) method of pouring the silicon would help too.
