I'm starting a new series of figures based on cryptids from the frontier days. They came up with some crazy creatures back then.

The first is the squonk. It's said he's the saddest animal alive because he's so hideous. If you capture one it will melt into tears.

Here's the sculpt so far. He'll have articulated arms. The can is for scale

Very, very nice. A cryptically creepy critter of Cryptozoology! Looking forward to seeing him with arms.

Man, I dig it armless! But, maybe the arms will make it even better :)

For me it looks better without arms. It looks creepy and mean. And love the eyes.

With arms in looks cartoonish.

I like the cute/cartooniness that the arms add. Especially whne combined with the weird/gross textures that this guy has.

I really love the texture that this guy has. I can see both sides of the arms debate. I say arms

Im on the no arms team. Im imagining holding it, and without arms seems like it would feel nice in the hand since its about the size of a can of soda. thats what she said.

I'm sticking with the arms. I wanted a certain amount of cartooniness. Even with the arms it fits well in your hand. And I think the arms give him a lot more personality. The mold is currently curing and I'll have some test pulls done tonight.

My Flickr has some pics of some clear arms I cast

I like it, with, or without arms. That's one of the things I'm dealing with with something I'm sculpting right now. It's tricky to get arms to articulate, and still look good on a thick character. Regardless, I think this is one of the best figures you've made MB.
