| Post subject: | Sushi with two Robins and an Osbourne |
This weekend my wife and I went to Las Vegas for the VH1 Rock Honors. A friend of ours is a Talent executive for the show and she hooked us up with ALL ACCESS passes which we were able to use ANYWHERE! It was amazing! The honorees, which at first seemed a bit odd but not as odd as the Tribute acts, were ZZ Top, Heart, Genesis, and Ozzy! Playing tributes were Nickleback (don't know why they were there but they sounded decent covering ZZ Top.) Next up was, get this, Gretchin Wilson heading Alice in Chains. They covered Baracuda by Heart and Gretchin sounded really good (never heard her before cause I'm not into country). Third up was KEANE and they played tribute to Genesis, and finally, the highlight for me, Queens of the Stone Age ROCKED Paranoid! Then Ozzy came up and jammed a few classics. It was a pretty good show, but the higlight was hanging in the Green Room with some of the celebs. I am not a huge celeb person, but having Sushi with Robin Williams, Sharon Osbourne (watching her watch her husband on stage was pretty amazing), and Robin Leach was exceptionally cool! Also stood within arms distance of the stunning (in person blew my mind) Cameron Diaz, Billy Bob Thornton and Chris Angel. This was a memory I won't soon forget. After the show, which was hosted by BAM margera, we went to the VIP after Party at the HOB. Lots of all night top shelf liquor, all you can eat sushi, and anything else you wanted was there for the taking. VH1 really knows how to throw an event! Final highlight of the night was my wife getting smoking advice (best way to quit) from Bam's mother, April Margera. Since we had artist credentials, we could not take photos, so that was a bit of a bummer, but I am not complaining. We had a great night! (Sorry for the long post) Just a bit excited still! If you should happen to read through the whole post, thanks for your time. |

Cool story, sounds like a great night! I was considering going to stand in the pit area since it was free if you showed up, but that would have been way lame compared to all access passes. I ended up staying home like a big old loser haha |

We did meet him and he seemed really nice. If I ever get the chance again, I will... honestly, even if I had the chance, I would probably forget to mention toys at all. What figures does he collect again? |

I ran into "Da Brat" at the post office and (former) wrestling "Super Star" Raven at a comic shop. I felt so blown away by boths presence I couldn't say a word |

The only time I was ever starstruck is when I worked at Acclaim, and I met Mick Foley in his ECW days. I was all "C-c-c-c-caaaa--c-c-c-c-aaaactus J-j-j-j-j-aaaack uhbuh-buh-buh-buh-buh--uhhhh" or something similarly nonsensical. He was the best. |

When we went to the after party at the HOB the usher asked us if we wanted him to escort us to "our section". I was all like, "I didn't realize we had a section." Then he took us up to the VIP area where there were tequila shots and Jager Bombers waiting for us. I could get used to a life like that! |
