Never noticed it before (though it could well have been there for all 399 episodes - ?) ... In 'Stop Or My Dog Will SHoot', at 0:15, very prominently over his shoulder we see on Bart's bedside table a kaiju - pointy-headed, four-armed, green, and standing proudly on his tentacles. CC |

CC Wouldn't happen to be Kang or Kodos would it? |

This was a bedside toy, 4 arms out in an X shape, sorta reservoir-tip shaped head ... never noticed it before, but it was obviously a kaiju. From last Sunday's episode, if it's still on anyone's Tivo. No facilities to do a screen shot here, plus I already erased it -- I shoulda taken a photo ... CC |

I think that monster was featured in a movie Bart was watching in one of the very early episodes. Some story where the kids are home alone and he freaks Lisa out by making her watch the movie? There is a great episode where they go to Japan. A sentai-style show ("Seizure Inducing Robots") is featured as well as Godzilla, Gamera, and Mothra. |

That and the game show host voiced by George Takei. |

Roger wrote: "American game shows reward knowledge. WE PUNISH IGNORANCE." Definately my favorite Simpsons episode. The only other one that comes close is the episode when George Bush Sr. moves in across the street. |

it's definitely a great epsiode and up there on the favorites it doesn't top the one where Moe's becomes a family restaurant, however, at least in my opinion |

And, has this bedside kaiju been there for a long time and I simply never noticed it before? I will say that the kaiju was pretty much the highlight though - 'Stop Or My Dog Will Shoot' was otherwise quite a feeble effort. Presumably with its position as episode 399, it was phoned in, with the looming 400 getting all the effort. In any event, thanks for the info - I knew someone here would have the juice on this. CC |

I loved Bart vs. the Space Mutants for the NES! It's one of the best Simpson's video games made, but then again, that's not saying much. Remember The Simpson's skateboarding for ps2? |
