OK peoples I know some of you care about music etc!
And as I am running the new Rough Trade Shop in Dray Walk , Brick Lane, London , England I thought some of you might like to see it ! we are due to open in a couple weeks.
It's 5000 sq ft , which makes it the largest (indie) record store in the UK, we have a permanent stage built in with its own lighting rig, a cafe, a snug/study (this is just an area to hang out in with free wireless) and a small gallery space (first show Pete Fowler) oh and of course lots and lots of lovely vinyl and cd's.
here is a little peek from the outside
, the insides are hidden from view ! They are top secret

If anyone is interested I was gonna post a few pics every couple of days till we open.......we have lots of rad stuff planned for the opening month and a ton of instores and exclusive 7" (coloured vinyl of course !)

You run the shop? How very cool! Although I've not yet been to the UK (argh!) I have very fond memories of the original Rough Trade shop here in San Francisco, when it was on upper Grant Street during our original Punk heyday in the last 70s/very early 80s. It was the only place to get a lot of UK and Jamaican vinyl at the time ... I remember getting singles by the Pop Group, Cabaret Voltaire, The Slits, etc. and also rough, bubbly Augustus Pablo records of incredible Dub music. Hah ... pre-Smiths days.

Best wishes to you and your staff. It must be a very exciting time for you.
