Post subject:  Question about an ebay seller

Anyone have any dealings with Agintoys?

I sent him 3 emails requesting a total in the past week or so with no response, suddenly he goes straight to dispute and starts yelling that he's sent me 4 emails and I have ignored them all.
He seems to have good feedback, so I don't know what his deal is.
I'm just curious if anyone can shed light on his Jekyll & Hyde attitude.

Steve also has no internet skills. So do not take it personally. He can't even figure out how to post positive feedback.

I couldn't imagine that he was intentionally being evil, and I wasn't trying to slag him off, I basically wanted reassurance to that effect.

Thanks alot! I'll ring him when I get home tonight.

I had a similar interaction with him about 5 years ago and have avoided him ever since. he called my house 2 days after it ended asking why I had avoided his emails. lol

From my exp with him, on the customer service end, he must have spent his whole life digging ditches...

Great guy to talk to on the phone. He has been around since the beginning of ebay.

What a surprise. I've bought from him several times and it's always gone well. He doesn't always leave positive feedback, even if you do for him, it's true. Plus he can be a little slow to respond with your total, and also slower than many sellers to ship, so it surprises me that he'd be impatient with his customers. There was a glitch with one of my orders once (only one of two items was shipped) but he fixed the situation as soon as I called it to his attention.

I think he's a good guy, just sort of a "plain folks" store if you will. Some patience and level-headed communication will probably iron things out. You might try using eBay's message system instead of e-mail, just in case spam filters or something like that are an issue.

I did email him through ebay actually.
I will speak to him tonight, and I will reserve comment until then, when I can hopefully say all is sorted and ok.
By the sounds of it, it probably will be.

Thanks again.

i've also purchased from Steve several times and he has more than once hooked me up on some rare shit he could have sold for more on eBay. He's a good guy. Old school. been around forever and as you can read, contributed to many a collection around here including many OG.

yes, he can be short via email, but if you were to talk to him, you would realize he's got the east coast attitude, but a lot of heart.

I always hit it off better with west coast peeps back in school. One day I'll live on that side for sure.

Yeah, his email is spotty. He called me out of the blue one day at work to follow up on a sale. Nice guy on the phone, but I'm used to east coast temperaments.

wow!
Well, after a 15 minute overseas conversation (at my expense) that could have been said in about 3 sentences on his part (i.e. he's a tad long winded), I think we're somewhere positive.
Aside from his longwindedness and my short attention span, he is indeed a lovely bloke.

But christ can he go on...

I have done a weird deal with him ! won an item on Ebay, asked him later if I can buy more of this item and if he could send them to Taiwan to let them paint !

Everything went smooth !!!

Good seller I would say, maybe he has his days down too !

:D

Some of my first vinyl stuff was from Steve. It took several polite emails but I got my total. He even offered to hook me up with stuff out of his own collection. Cool guy. Chatty but cool
