Dont like gore but love the cartoon. Great music. I often watch it in the daytime just so I can turn it up loud. It also helps to hold me over till season three of The Venture Brothers. |

I remember, I think I had one when I joined last Nov. Thought it was weird though with no one talking about it and all this sweet shit coming. A friend of mine who works at the record store I used to mentioned there's supposed to be a "tour" anyone else get word about that? |

So is Deathklok now the metal version of Gorillaz? Love the show, and the music is great. If he/they can pull off an album that would be great. |

Ugh, I know what you mean by it, but please don't compare Dethklok to that crap again....PLEASE! (sorry if I offend anyone by calling the Gorillaz crap, just my opinion.) I think more Spinal Tap than Gorillaz, animation aside. An album IS coming out Tuesday, I think it's just gonna be the songs from the show though, maybe extended and maybe a few extras. |

Dethlklock (i believe) is actually just one guy who works with the Atlanta crew of Adult Swim. He does a lot for the crew there. Here's some info on him... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0806430/ |

I rang in 2007 with a Metalocalypse marathon. The idea of watching one a week would be torturous but I'm pretty pumped for new episodes. |

Here's where I come from as a fan: I was HUGE into metal, and ONLY metal in high school. I was a joke. A stereotype. I still love metal, but that doesn't stop me from being able to look back and laugh at myself (and many of the bands I liked and STILL like.) I DON'T like metal ironically like a douche, I still really like it and appreciate it, but there's lots of things to laugh at too. That's where the humor comes in for me. The show is funny on so many god damned levels. It's kind of written from that POV. Someone looking back on what they were but also by someone who still has a love for the music. And on a "stupider" level, there's tons of guts and slapstick to make it worth it too. When I saw the first episode when it aired I had NO IDEA what to expect, but a brutal metal song about coffee, windmill head banging and a trip to a grocery store named after Fintroll where Nathan punches his fist through the glass to get some meat sold me. I can't say if you'll like it if you give it a second try, but what the hell it won't hurt? What episode did you watch? I think they're all awesome, but of course there's ones that are better than others in my opinion. |

I think they're all awesome, but of course there's ones that are better than others in my opinion. i started with glam/hair metal in the 80's and it bleed into getting into hxc then into more "extreme" metal with the growth of "metalcore" in the 90's. the last thing i ever do is take myself (or anything) too seriously so the show does sound like my thing. i can't remeber which episode i saw but it was just "ehhhh". if there is a new season starting soon i should try to give one a looksee again...one more shot. |

i just watched it on adult swim and it was OK but still "ehhhh". i don't know what it is about it but i'm not totally pulled into it. i can't say why and it did have a few good spots (the song was probably the best part) but i'm not moved enough by it to have to see another episode. |

Anyone else go get Dethalbum today? I nabbed it before work to make my law firm metal, it isn't working. People are just too busy "working" here to care. I thought the DVD came out today too but the lady at Target gave me a weird look when I asked and it wasn't anywhere on the shelves. |

I really think you have to listen to brutal death metal to truly appreciate this show. I can see how someone who only liked some of the other metal genres would think it wasn't that great. but if you like death metal, the characters/songs/content is right on the money. |

For sure, but it touches on all the rest too. Each member of the band is such an awesomely put together stereotype too. I love that Murderface is from FL. so appropriate. Also, for me, it's kind of what my mentality was when I was BIG into metal in highschool. I thought big like that, like "if I was in a metal band it'd be the most brutal and we'd kill people at shows with a giant killer stage that spit blood" and dumb junk like that. It's a dumb 15 year old metal heads dream come true. |
