he's an up and coming rapper, a somewhat protege of kanye west. he's gonna be the next big thing because he will appeal to a large crowd because he's a skater and a toy nerd and an all around geek, but he's also a rapper, so it makes it okay for him to like that stuff and subsequently makes it okay for US to like that stuff because that guy does and he's cool...at least to the eyes of the general public, you know he's sorta like the new Pharrel, minus a little thugness |

Did pharrell ever have thugness? I thought his whole appeal was lack of thugness, but still making (in the old days, when neptunes only produced) crraaaazzzy beats. Mobb Deep has thugness. |

Pharrell has (had) pseudo thugness. he's kind of like "different", meaning he likes skating and toys and un-hip hop influences, but he's got some thug in him too. sometimes his lyrics are somewhat thuggy. |
