Holy friggin crap - I dig pumpkin brews but this one blew me away. Totally worth tracking down if you dig this sort of thing. A lot of these ales taste sort of artificial, and neither like an ale or a pumpkin. This one is easily the best I've ever had, it's like a fucking meal!

There's a micro brewery in Hayward, CA (southeast of San Francisco) called Buffalo Bill's. When I lived in the East Bay I used to always pick up a few jugs of their Pumpkin Ale to bring along to a Halloween party. It looks like they're bottling it these days. http://www.buffalobillsbrewery.com/brewery.asp It's just like the website says, "Pumpkin pie in a bottle." |

I used to live about a mile from the place and bought it on tap. You could buy it by the gallon and they would fill a jug right from the tap and seal it up for transport while you wait. Once you bought the jug, you could bring the empties back and have them refilled minus the cost of the jug. Nothing like getting it right from the tap. I'll try to track down that Pumpking, though. |
